DEFAULT KEYWORDS
Default Keywords
You can add Keywords to source Documents, PDF Documents, and Episodes in Libraries. These Keywords then become Default Keywords, offered whenever you create Quotes, PDF Quotes, PDF Snapshots, or Clips from these data sources.
Default Keywords
Default Keywords are an extremely powerful feature in Transana. You create a Default Keyword by assigning a Keyword to source data. That is, when you assign a Keyword to a Document, a PDF Document, or an Episode, you have given that source item a Default Keyword. There are several things to keep in mind about Default Keywords:
- Default Keywords are not, by themselves, codes. When you assign a Default Keyword, you have NOT coded anything.
- When you create a new selection (Quote, Clip, PDF Quote, PDF Snapshot) from the source Document, PDF, or Episode, any existing Default Keywords for that item will be suggested as codes for the new selection. However, you do not have to keep these suggested Keywords.
- When you add a new Default Keyword to an existing Document, PDF Document, or Episode, if that source item already has defined selections, you will be given the opportunity to add the new Keyword to all existing selections.
