Transana Development
Starting with version 2.0, Transana is being developed as Open Source software, under the GNU-GPL (General Public License), as defined by the Free Software Foundation.
What is Open Source software? Briefly, according to the Open Source Initiative, Open Source software is software that can be freely distributed, that provides easily obtainable source code, and that allows for the creation of derived works. You can read the complete definition here. For more information about Open Source software in general, see the Open Source Initiative home page.
In this section you can find information about the Transana development process . The development log is a place where the Transana team posts the latest information about work on new versions of the program. The release schedule provides estimated dates of new releases, and bug fix versions. Users or developers who are interested in creating international versions of Transana can read the page on internationalization.
People who are considering customizing Transana can access the source code documentation and database documentation. Transana's source code itself it available from SourceForge.net, an online repository of open source source code.
